RDIF, Marubeni and AEON to collaborate in Russian biotechnology sector

Vladivostok, September 5, 2019 - The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), Russia’s sovereign wealth fund, Japan’s Marubeni Corporation and AEON Infrastructure Corporation have agreed to jointly collaborate in the Russian biotechnology. The agreement was signed today at the Eastern Economic Forum.
The utilization of the technology of Giprobiosintez LLC is the parties’ first joint project in biotechnology. The company's unique scientific developments in the synthesis of bioprotein from natural gas are used in agriculture, food production, medicine and cosmetics.
In particular, Giprobiosintez’ technologies are used in the production of quality feed ingredients, which helps to improve livestock productivity and substitute foreign equivalents to eliminate the shortage of quality feed supplements in Russia’s domestic market.
The company’s closed-loop production cycle also enables it to produce emission-free biofertilizers.
